US President Joe Biden ordered Mineone Partners and its partners to sell land next to Warin’s air base in Wyoming for 120 days. It is reported by Financial Times.
The American military place nuclear intercontinental ballistic missiles Minuteman III based on Warren on the southeast of Wyoming.
According to Bayden, the control package of shares of the British Virgin Islands group belongs to China citizens and they did not inform the US government about the confidential transaction.
In the published order for the sale, Biden said that Mineone used specialized equipment for mining cryptocurrency, which included foreign technologies, which posed a threat to national security.
“The proximity of foreign real estate to the strategic missile base and the key element of the nuclear triad of America, as well as the presence of specialized equipment of foreign production, potentially capable of facilitating observation and spying activities, poses a threat to US national security,” the order says.
The White House said that Mineone did not notify the purchase of land in 2022 by the Foreign Investment Committee in the USA (CFIUS), which checks the transactions for security reasons.
According to the presidential decree, the Mineone should take out the equipment from the ground within 90 days. Biden also forbade the group and its partners access to the location - with the exception of the goals of moving the equipment - until CFIUS is convinced that all the equipment has disappeared.
According to the publication, these actions are explained by the growing concern of the Congress that Chinese companies buy agricultural and other lands throughout the United States, especially near military facilities.
This happened a year after the American fighter shot down the alleged Chinese balloon-spy off the east coast of the United States. The balloon hung over the missile-nuclear facility in Montana during more than a week of flight over North America.
