Residents of Iskitima opposed the construction of a metallurgical "death plant" in the city

In the city of Iskitim, which is located 30 km from Novosibirsk, a rally was held against the construction of the plant. It is reported by Sotavision.

The rally gathered about 150 participants, including local deputy Elena Gladysheva. “We do not agree with the placement of the plant within the city of Iskitim,” she said.

The rally participants noted that four enterprises of the first hazard class are already working in Iskitim. The factories, according to them, do not install treatment filters, and in the evening "even the light from the lanterns is not visible due to dust."

“The environmental situation in our country is already unfavorable, Iskitim is included in the top of the dirty cities in Russia. In the area where I live, there are already two plants that give hazardous emissions - a cement plant and treatment facilities. To whom did the idea of ​​placing another factory here? There is not a single argument in favor of the enterprise. The head of the city, Sergei Zavorzhin, says that there will be 300 new jobs, but we do not have unemployment, ”says local activist Andrei.

He also noted that public hearings were illegitimate, since they passed with violations - the inhabitants of Iskitim did not ask if they needed a plant.
