In Yerevan, the police detained at least 137 participants in the shares of disobedience, which began early on the morning of May 27. According to News.am with reference to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia, the detainees are charged with an administrative article on disobeying the legal requirements of the police.

Update: the number of detainees increased to 226 people.

Activists blocked several streets in the center of Yerevan. Among them was the Archbishop of Bagrat Blastanyan, who heads the protest movement in recent weeks. The clergyman on the black SUV blocked the intersection at the intersection of Abovyan and Sayat-Nova Avenue. Among the detainees were deputies of the National Assembly of Armenia Arthur Sargsyan and Ashot Simonyan, whom the policeman was detained with the use of force. Representatives of the protest movement “Tavush in the name of the Motherland” claim that due to mass detentions in the police departments, a place ended.

On the eve of the Republic Square in Yerevan, a rally was held with a demand for the resignation of Prime Minister Nikola Pashinyan. Then it became known that the opposition plans to nominate Bagrats Bagrata to the post of prime minister. The priest himself had already addressed Catholicos Garegin II with a request to stop him in the ministry.

Protest shares have been going on in Yerevan since the beginning of May. Protesters opposed a deal with Azerbaijan on the delimitation of the border section in the Tavush region, under the conditions of which Yerevan agreed to transfer several abandoned border villages under the control of Baku. In particular, the inhabitants of the border village of Kiranz are opposed to the proposed plan of Delimitation, since the border and, accordingly, the positions of the Azerbaijani army as a result will come closer to their village, pose a threat to security. Pro -government resources, meanwhile, accuse the Blastanyan and his movement of ties with Moscow.
