Armenia bought 36 Caesar SAU from France, they will be delivered in the next 15 months. This was announced on Twitter by the deputy director of Le Figaro Jean-Cristofa Busson, noting that this weapon is necessary "to strengthen protection from Azerbaijan."

On June 18, the head of the Ministry of Defense of France, Sebastian Locorn, announced a meeting with the head of the defense department of Armenia Suren Papikyan and the signing of the contract for the supply of Caesar installations. The details of the contract were not specified. Commenting on the conclusion of the contract, the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Maria Zakharova said that "Paris provokes the next round of armed confrontation in the South Caucasus."

In October, Paris and Yerevan concluded an agreement that allows in the future to sign contracts for the supply of military equipment. In November, it became known that France sent the first batch of armored vehicles to Armenia, namely, Bastion armored personnel carriers.

Last year, the Secretary of the Council of People's Commissars of Armenia Armen Grigoryan said that Yerevan placed an order for “several hundred million dollars” for Russian weapons, but never received it. This information was later confirmed by the Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. From his words it followed that the weapon was already paid, but Russia did not put it and did not return the money.
