A case has been opened against the abbot of the Moscow Zen Center for “fake news about the army”

On June 20, 2024, it became known that a case had been initiated under paragraph "d" of Part 2 of Article 207.3 of the Criminal Code (public dissemination, under the guise of reliable messages, of knowingly false information containing data on the use of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, committed on the grounds of political, ideological, racial, national or religious hatred or enmity) against the rector of the Moscow Zen Center, Ilya Vasiliev.

The reason for initiating the case was two of his publications on Facebook.

On June 22, it became known that the Preobrazhensky Court of Moscow chose a preventive measure for Vasiliev in the form of detention for a period of two months – until August 20.
