The US Treasury imposed sanctions against the top management of Kaspersky Laboratory. From October, the installation and sale of the company will be prohibited

The US Department of Finance included 12 Russians included in the leadership of the Kaspersky Laboratory:

• Daniil Borschev, Deputy General Director for Strategy and Economics

• Mikhail Herber, Executive Vice President of Consumer Business
• Anton Ivanov, Director of Research and Development
• Anna Kulashova, Managing Director in Russia and the CIS countries
• Denis Zenkin, Head of the Department of Corporate Communications
• Andrey Dukhovalov, Vice President, Director of the Department of Promising Technology
• Andrey Suvorov, Development Director of Kasperskyos

The US Department of Trade also announced that from September 29, 2024, America will prohibit the use and sale of software developed by Kaspersky Laboratory, including Kaspersky Laboratory, Kaspersky LLC and the British branch of Kaspersky LaBs Limited. This decision is associated with “critical risks” due to the alleged close ties of the company with the Russian government.

In March 2022, the Federal Commission for the United States and the National Security Bureau included the Russian “Kaspersky Laboratory” in the list of companies whose products are a threat of national security in the field of communications. The fact that the company's software products have a threat, the American authorities stated back in 2017. Their use in US state institutions is prohibited.

According to The Wall Street Journal, the creators of the Kaspersky Antivirus built the program to search for secret documents of the US government. According to the publication, this was done by order of the Russian authorities. Sources claimed that Antivirus was looking for files on the computers of the users who installed it by keywords “Top Secret” (Top Secret).
