Russian pipeline gas supplies to Europe hit one-year high in July - Reuters

Average daily pipeline shipments of Russian natural gas to Europe reached their highest level this year in July, up 5.7 percent from a year earlier and 12 percent from June, Reuters calculations showed .

It is noted that this is due to the completion of maintenance work on the Turkish Stream and a seasonal increase in demand, as utilities begin pumping gas into storage for the winter.

Reuters calculations based on data from European gas transportation group Enzog and Gazprom's daily reports on gas transit through Ukraine showed average daily pipeline gas exports increased to 91.5 million cubic meters last month from 86.6 million cubic meters in July 2023. Gazprom's natural gas exports to Europe have reached about 18.3 billion cubic meters this year.

At the same time, Reuters recalls that the peak figures for the flow of Russian gas to Europe were in 2018–2019, when they amounted to 175–180 billion cubic meters per year. In 2023, after the fall in gas exports to Europe, Gazprom suffered losses of almost $7 billion — this is the first annual loss for the state-owned company since 1999.
