US presidential candidate Donald Trump said in an interview with Elon Musk that he intends to "get along" with Russia and that he is doing well "getting along" with Vladimir Putin.
"I know Putin very well. I got along very well with him, he respected me. I hope we get along again. You know, it would be good to get along with him, not bad," Trump said.
Donald Trump also called Joe Biden's decision to allow Ukraine to join NATO "stupid."
"When I left, the Russians started building a big army on the border with Ukraine. I thought with Putin, and he's a good negotiator, they were doing it to negotiate. Nothing bad was happening, but then the Biden administration started saying stupid things. For example, he said that Ukraine could be in NATO. As long as the North Atlantic Alliance existed, Russia said that it would never do that. And then we go and say it. Because we have a president with a low IQ. He had a low IQ 30 years ago, and now he probably doesn't have one at all," Trump said.
In July, current US President Joe Biden addressed the nation about his withdrawal from the presidential race.
Biden announced that he was withdrawing from the election to “defend democracy,” for which he had sacrificed his own ambitions. He noted that while he valued his office, he “loves the country more.” Therefore, he considered it necessary to “pass the torch to a new generation.” This, he said, was “the best way to unite the nation.”
Biden endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris and called on his supporters to “unite behind her and defeat Trump.” On August 2, Harris won the delegate votes needed to become the Democratic presidential nominee.
