The court sentenced Perm student Kirill Zamaleev to four years in prison. He was accused of setting fire to a military registration and enlistment office

The Central District Military Court sentenced Kirill Zamaleev, a student from Perm, to four years in prison in the case of the failed arson of a military registration and enlistment office. As SotaVision reports , the 18-year-old boy will spend the first two years and six months in prison, and the rest of his term in a maximum security colony.

Zamaleev was accused of preparing for a terrorist attack (Part 1 of Article 30 of the Criminal Code, Part 1 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code), he has been in custody since September 2023. During the debate, the state prosecutor asked that the defendant be sentenced to six and a half years in prison, taking into account the admission of guilt and the conclusion of a pre-trial agreement. Zamaleev, speaking in court, asked for forgiveness from the country, expressing the hope that it would “understand and forgive” him.

According to investigators, after the start of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, the student “became carried away by Internet resources opposed to the Russian authorities,” and in August 2023, a man named Maxim suggested that he “set fire and blow up the premises of the military registration and enlistment office of the Industrial and Dzerzhinsky districts of Perm.”

The prosecution believes that before September 12, Zamaleev “went on reconnaissance” to the military registration and enlistment office building, bought charcoal and sodium nitrate, made “something similar to a firecracker” based on descriptions found on the Internet, and the next day “tested” it in a vacant lot near the car market. There was no explosion because the match did not ignite. On the evening of September 13, Zamaleev was detained at the Rostic's fast food restaurant.

The FSB noted that the “recruiter” named Maxim did not have time to transfer $400 to the student, since the arson, which, according to security forces, was planned on the night of September 15, did not take place.

Zamaleev’s defense previously complained of pressure from security forces, who, during his arrest, told Zamaleev that they would use a stun gun or cut off his finger to unlock his phone.
