Doctors Without Borders announced the cessation of activities in Russia

The independent non-profit medical organization Doctors Without Borders (Médecins Sans Frontières - MSF) announced the cessation of activities in Russia. This is stated on her website.

“After 32 years of working in Russia, Doctors Without Borders was forced to stop its activities in the country,” reads a statement published on the MSF website.

In August 2024, MSF received a letter from the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation, which stated that the Russian branch of an NGO in Russia was excluded from the register of branches and representative offices of foreign non-governmental organizations.

MSF has worked in Russia since 1992, the organization had projects in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Chechnya, Dagestan and some other regions of Russia, the press release notes.
