Hurricane Milton hit the state of Florida (USA). Previously, over the ocean it reached the fifth category on the Saffir-Simpson scale, but when approaching the coast it weakened to the second category, and soon to the first. It passed Tampa and is now over Orlando with wind speeds of 38 m/s.
Earlier, about 5 million people were evacuated from Florida. At the time, it was expected that Milton could become the strongest hurricane in a century and would at least remain a Category 4 hurricane as it approaches landfall. Tampa Mayor Jane Castor, “without being dramatic at all,” said that being in the areas through which he will pass is like dying.
