Institutions throughout Ukraine received letters threatening terrorist attacks. Three authors of the investigation into the FSB are identified as culprits in the “explosions”

On October 14, Ukrainian authorities, schools, business centers, hotels, media offices, embassies and other facilities and departments throughout Ukraine received letters en masse with messages about the threat of a terrorist attack and mining, writes Radio Liberty. In many institutions, in particular educational ones, people were evacuated. According to law enforcement officials, more than one and a half thousand different objects throughout Ukraine received reports of possible mining.

The letter was signed by someone who called himself a representative of a “terrorist group”, with a name like that of an anti-Ukrainian Telegram channel, which spreads calls to burn the cars of the Ukrainian military and persecute military personnel of the Territorial Recruitment Centers (TMC). The threatening letter, which was sent to hundreds of organizations, mentions Radio Liberty journalists Irina Sysak and Valeria Egoshina, as well as freelancer Yulia Khimerik, on whom the senders “lay the blame” for the allegedly impending bombings.

Six days earlier, on October 8, Radio Liberty published an investigation , the authors of which were indicated by these three journalists. The investigation is devoted to how the FSB recruits Ukrainian children and teenagers, offering them money for setting fire to cars of Ukrainian Armed Forces military personnel, Ukrzaliznytsia equipment, or TCC buildings. In the investigation, the journalists spoke with both teenagers and recruiters, finding out what exactly they offer to children and under what conditions. All this made it possible to find out how recruiters and curators are connected with Russian special services and how large-scale the Russian disinformation campaign is to set fire to the cars of Ukrainian military personnel. The goal, as journalists established, is to show that there is supposedly an active underground in Ukraine, which thus opposes general mobilization.

As Radio Liberty investigators found out, a person with the same personal data as the sender of the threatening letters lives in occupied Crimea and has a Russian passport. On the social networks of the above-mentioned “terrorist group”, which took responsibility for sending letters with threats of mining, messages are published calling for the burning of cars of Ukrainian military personnel, and the results of arson are also demonstrated there. For this “work” they offer from $100. In addition, on the Telegram channel, the “groups” are distributing videos in which TCC employees are detaining Ukrainian citizens for further mobilization. The authors of the channel call for persecution of these military men, for which they promise to pay from $1000.

As journalists discovered, in early October, representatives of the same “group” sent messages to a number of government agencies in Ukraine with a proposal to “kill for reward” top security officials and public figures. They introduced themselves as an organization that “has long been engaged in fulfilling orders for military actions and resolving issues through physical elimination,” and called “carrying out actions of mass disorder, mining state structures, subversive activities of any level” as a priority area of ​​activity. The group's website says it provides services such as "racketeering, contract killings, car theft, personal injury, arson."
