The Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation filed a claim against the structures of the Shell oil corporation for more than 1 billion euros

According to the claims of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation, it is planned to recover more than 1 billion euros for losses from the Anglo-Dutch oil company Shell, Interfax reports , citing the press service of the Moscow Arbitration Court.

The lawsuit was filed against various structures of the company on October 2. It lists as defendants Shell Global Solutions International B.V., Shell Exploration and Production Services B.V., Shell Oil and Gas Development LLC, Shell International Exploration and Production B.V., Shell Sakhalin Services B.V., Shell Energy Europe Ltd. and Shell, Shell Sakhalin Holdings B.V. The third parties in the lawsuit are Gazprom Export LLC, the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation, Sakhalin Energy LLC, Sakhalin Energy Investment Company, Ltd., as well as the government of the Sakhalin region.

A preliminary court hearing in the case is scheduled for December 11. If the case is considered prepared, it may be considered on the same day.

In 2022, Vladimir Putin replaced the operator of the Sakhalin Energy Investment Company Ltd project, which was handled by Shell, with the Russian Sakhalin Energy LLC. Two Japanese companies remained in it - Mitsui & Co., Ltd with 12.5% ​​shares and Mitsubishi Corporation with 10% shares, and Shell informed Russian authorities that it would not be a participant.
