The SBU counterintelligence announced the exposure of a Telegram channel administrator who collaborated with the FSB, a 52-year-old resident of the Zhytomyr region, a former representative of the banned Derzhava party, who helped Ukrainian citizens evade mobilization, the service’s channel reports . He was caught while trying to cross the Ukrainian-Belarusian border in August, when he tried to swim across the Dnieper using fins.
The investigation showed that he was recruited by the Russian intelligence service; after his escape, he planned to leave for Russia and participate there in “information and psychological operations of the FSB.” Before that, he created a network of Telegram channels, where Ukrainian citizens who did not want to serve were asked to flee the country along specially prepared routes, bypassing checkpoints. To do this, he scouted certain sections of the state border, marked poorly guarded places on maps and sent them to his clients.
Based on this, he was charged with violating Part 2 of Art. 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - treason committed under martial law. The suspect is in custody and faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
