What is USAID?

Although the main goal of the organization in 2025 was proclaimed “protection” and the promotion of “security, prosperity and democratic values ​​of the United States”, as well as the formation of an “international environment in which all American: ki can flourish”, the agency’s assistance went to many social programs, not related directly to the interests of the United States.

Why do Trump and Musk want to close the agency?

What programs supported USAID?

According to the critic: the agency’s closure of the agency, these amounts are selective and relatively small, while the main part of the USAID budget is spent on healthcare systems, vaccination and infrastructure projects. USAID finances a very wide range of campaigns : from the psychological support of the Ukrainian military to the restoration of education in Iraq, including the development of accelerated education and the provision of school supplies to children. In addition, the agency supports non -governmental organizations, independent media and social initiatives.
