The US Department of Justice fired several immigration judges. This became known to NBC News from the statement of one of the dismissed judges in LinkedIn and information from two sources familiar with the situation.

According to these data, five assistants to the main immigration judges of the middle level and 13 candidates for the post of new judges received the dismissal notifications on Friday. After arriving at the White House of the Trump administration, more than two dozen immigration judges, managers and new employees were dismissed.

One of the dismissed is Kerry Doyle, recently appointed by an immigration judge who previously held the post of deputy chief legal adviser of the Ministry of Internal Security under the Biden administration. In her statement, she noted that she was fired despite the fact that in immigration courts there are now about 3.5 million unreasonable cases and in this direction there is an acute shortage of judges.

NBC News notes that over the past year only more than 1.8 million new cases were submitted, as a result of which the total number of unseduced immigration affairs by the end of 2024 reached 3.6 million.

The administration of Trump instead of hiring new judges focused on the attraction of personnel to conduct mass deportations. The “immigration king” Tom Homan attracted employees from several federal agencies, including the Drug Control and Bureau for Alcohol Control, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, to help the immigration and customs service in the detention of immigrants.

Earlier it was reported that the White House fired from 300 to 400 employees of the National Nuclear Security Directorate (NNSA).
