The Czech Republic said that she had stopped receiving oil on the Druzhba pipeline. The reasons are unknown

Oil supplies at the Russian Pipeline "Druzhba" to the Czech Republic stopped again, reports the publication české noviny with reference to the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Lukash Vlchek. This is the second stop of oil supplies since December 2024.

“We are aware of the situation and take measures. Oil refineries in the Czech Republic are well prepared, and we also have a reliable system of state material reserves, ”said Vlkek.

The minister added that at the moment the existing oil in the country will be enough for the needs of all enterprises and households. If the suspension of the Druzhba pipeline is delayed, the Czech Republic will be able to switch to deliveries from the Italian oil pipeline Tal+. The latter is already technically ready for this.

Prague receives oil from two main sources: the Druzhba oil pipeline and the IKL German pipeline, which is connected to the Italian Tal+. The share of supplies from the Russian pipeline last year amounted to 42%, notes české noviny.

Deliveries for the Druzhba pipeline stopped earlier - in December 2024. They resumed two days later. The reason for stopping the pipeline is unknown this time.

Back in November 2024, the deputy director of the Czech state-owned enterprise Mero, which controls the Czech part of the pipeline, Zdenek Dundra announced that the country was going to stop the consumption of Russian oil by July 2025.
