US resident Marlene Flawers decided to radically change her life 10 years ago, when she first encountered health problems. Once, walking near the house, she felt shortness of breath and knee pain. She was hospitalized, and then Marlene decided to seriously engage in her health.
At first she trained at home in the living room, and then, in order to increase the load, she began to go to the gym. Her son began to shoot videos on how her grandmother shakes his muscles, and spread them in Tiktok - the videos instantly became viral.
Now 68-year-old Marlene is known as Granny Guns (“Grandmother's guns”)-influenser in bodybuilding with a million subscribers. She often shoots comic videos, where first appears in the image of a stereotypical grandmother in a box chair, and then demonstrates her biceps.
“It took me time to leave the house. Now the opposite is the contrary - I cannot be taken from the gym, ”says Flauers.
Despite arthritis and deterioration in bones, it trains every day. Power loads help her cope with pain.
Experts confirm that weight lifting helps older people to maintain muscle mass and physical activity. In addition, this reduces the risk of injuries and can extend life.
