"Bridgertons" and "Very strange things" will become games

Netflix is ​​developing game adaptations of its largest franchises, including Bridgertons, Very Strange Things and Van Pis. This was told by the head of the game direction of the platform Alain Tascan at the conference on March 19.

According to Variety, Netflix announced the launch of the game direction in 2021. Since then, the Team Blue studio has developed a shooter in the spirit of Call of Duty for the platform, but the project could not be realized and closed it.

According to Taskan, this is not the direction in which the platform needs to develop. He stated that Netflix will focus on plot games on the already released franchises. Now the company is looking for ways to combine linear and interactive storytelling in order to give users the opportunity to live their own story within the famous worlds.

“If I ended up in the world of Harry Potter, I would not want to be Harry Potter. I would choose another faculty, other spells - I would tell my story, ”he explained. According to him, the worlds of the series "Bridertons" and "Very strange things" are especially good for this.

However, it is difficult to synchronize the output of games and TV shows. It is still unknown whether the game will be released on “very strange things” simultaneously with the final season this year, or when to wait for the adaptation of “Bridertones”.

Tascan also said that in the future he would like to unite the game world and the world of the series so that the viewer could in real time affect the course of the plot. “Imagine the world in which you first watch the show, and then find yourself in his world [in the game], break something or kill the character.
