In the USA, hyperrealistic dolls are gaining popularity, which are “adopted” as real babies - with a tag, a name, a “extract” procedure and even a silicone placenta. They cost from 250 to 1000 dollars and help women cope with loss, anxiety or loneliness.

Dolls are created in specialized studios. In one of them - “Dreamshyre Nursery” in Florida - the design resembles the hospital: pastel colors, diapers, “nurses” in uniform. The owner of the studio, Maria Trigg, calls the process of buying dolls “adoption”: she gives customers a birth certificate, and then measures the weight and growth of the “baby”.

According to Trigg, such dolls order both families with children and adults who survived loss, miscarriage or infertility.

So, one of her clients, Peggy Minki, bought a hyperrealistic doll after the death of the child. She gave her the name of the deceased son, and now there are ten such dolls in her collection. “I know that this is not my child. But it helps me - and helps many. Just not everyone understands how it works, ”she says.

According to Maria Trigg, sometimes people write to her that what she does is “painfully”, “crazy”, “propaganda of dependence” or “playing death”. But the trigg herself believes that dolls are just one of the ways to live emotions:
