The Government of the Russian Federation will allocate 4 billion rubles for import substitution of details and modernization of Ansat-M and Mi-38-2 helicopters and Mi-38-2

The Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia has announced competitions for the modernization of Ansat-M and Mi-38-2 helicopters, Interfax reports with reference to public procurement data. Contracts with a total value of more than 7.1 billion rubles are required to be executed until December 2027.

The modernization of the Ansat implies the replacement of imported details with Russian, an increase in the maximum take -off mass to 3800 kg, the completion of bench tests of the helicopter structure to install the anti -icing system and increase resource indicators. For these purposes, the government is ready to allocate up to 3.95 billion rubles.

The improvement of the Mi-38-2 involves equipping a helicopter with modernized units and additional on-board equipment, an increase in the resource indicators of transmission units and a helicopter support system, as well as the replacement of imported components with domestic ones. 1.76 billion rubles will be allocated for these works.

According to the integrated program for the development of the air market, in 2022–2030, 765 Russian helicopters should be delivered, including 187 Ansatov and 39 Mi-38.

The light multi-purpose Ansat helicopter was developed by the KB “Kazan Helicopter Plant”, “Ansat”-a modernized version. Until 2022, helicopters of this type were produced with the Canadian engines Pratt & Whitney. After the sanctions of the enterprise of the United Engine Corporation (CSC), they began to develop a replacement-the VK-650V engine. The Federal Air Transport Agency claims that the first flight of Ansat with the Russian engine will be held in April. Serial deliveries will begin in 2026, the Ministry of Industry and Trade said.
