EU approved trade tariffs against the United States

The European Union countries approved trade tariffs against the United States. According to the European Commission, they will operate on April 16. 26 out of 27 countries voted for these measures. Only Hungary spoke out against the duties.

European duties will amount to 10 to 25% against some American goods, including tobacco, motorcycles, poultry, steel and aluminum.

The European Commission states that the decision to introduce duties can be suspended at any time if Washington agrees to a fair result of negotiations.

On April 2, US President Donald Trump signed a decree on the introduction of import duties against goods from 185 countries. Since April 5, the United States also has a minimum basic customs tariff for all countries - 10%. The total fee for Chinese goods on April 9 reached 104%.
