The body of the Ukrainian journalist Victoria Roshchina, who spent more than a year in Russian captivity, was returned to their homeland with traces of torture, and before the exchange she was removed part of the internal organs. This is written by "important stories" with reference to a source close to the investigation of the death of a journalist.
According to the publication, eyeballs, the brain and part of the larynx were removed at the grove. In addition, she had a sub -language bone broken. According to the forensic expert, with whom the journalists talked, so the Russian security forces could try to hide the consequences of torture.
“Removing the larynx during autopsy is a non -standard practice. The larynx can be good proof of strangulation. When a person is strangled, he most often breaks the sub -language bone. When strangling in the proteins of the eyes, bleeding can be detected, and in the brain there is a lack of oxygen, ”said the interlocutor of the publication.
Other traces of torture found on the body of the journalist: abrasions and hemorrhages on different parts of the body, broken rib, as well as damage to the neck and possible traces of the use of electric shock on the feet, said the representative of the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yuri Belousov. The exact cause of death, however, has not yet been established.
According to the source of the publication in law enforcement agencies of Ukraine, Russia sometimes returns the bodies of prisoners with remote internal organs. As a rule, this is explained by the “protocol of handling the bodies of the deceased when sending them for autopsy”, but it may also be an attempt to hide traces of violence.
The Ukrainian authorities reported on the repatriation of the body of Roshchina on April 24. Her body was transferred to Ukraine back in February this year. In the morgue of Vinnitsa, it fell in a package with the inscription “NM Savior 757” (an unidentified man, a total defeat of the arteries of the heart, serial number 757). It found a body with the tag "7390 Roshchina V.V.".
Victoria Roshchin disappeared in August 2023 during the preparation of a report from the occupied territories of Ukraine. The Russian authorities admitted that they hold her in captivity, only in May 2024. In September of the same year, Roshchin died .
