Russia demanded from Ukraine to withdraw troops from the Ukrainian territory - Guardian, Telegraph

At negotiations in Istanbul, Russia put forward the requirements according to which Kyiv should withdraw Ukrainian troops from Ukrainian territory. This was reported by Western media, including The Guardian and The Telegraph , with reference to Ukrainian diplomatic sources.

According to the interlocutor of The Telegraph, "the Russian requirements are torn from reality and significantly go beyond everything that has been discussed earlier." He also noted that, in addition to the withdrawal of Ukrainian troops, other unacceptable demands were nominated Kyiv.

Later Axios journalist Barak Ravid specified that the Russian side demanded that Ukraine withdraw its troops “from several regions within Ukraine” in exchange for a ceasefire. The Verkhovna Rada deputy Alexei Goncharenko specified that Russia demanded the withdrawal of Ukrainian troops "from all the regions that they added to their constitution." According to him, the Russian side refused the 30-day truce.

In addition, Goncharenko noted that the participants of the Russian delegation "began to talk about the Sumy region, require the creation of the security zone and threaten the annexation of the region."

Negotiations lasted about an hour, they were still suspended.
