US Minister of Internal Security Christie Noem promotes the idea of a reality show in which a group of migrants will take various tests, and the winner will receive American citizenship. This was written by the Daily Mail tabloid, referring to the 35-page presentation, prepared by the Noem Secretary.
According to the publication, the idea belongs to the screenwriter and producer Rob Warsoff, who himself was born in Canada. He himself in Pitch of the show stated that “he was not connected with any political ideology,” and he wants to “in a positive way to illuminate the immigration process and begin a national conversation about what it means to be an American from the point of view of people who want this most of all.”
The alleged name of the show is “American”. On one of the slides of the presentation published by the Daily Mail, an approximate format of the show has been set out: each episode should include a “test related to the legacy”, “output test”, a meeting at the city hall where the episode is filmed, and the final vote, in which, at the proposal of Noem, the votes will calculate the US citizenship and immigration service. The leading show, according to the creators, should become one of the famous naturalized Americans (including the candidacy of actress Mila Kunis born in Ukraine). Participants will have to travel throughout America, getting acquainted with the characteristics of each state and telling why they want to move to the United States. Among the tests that they have to go through, for example, gold mining in mines in the San Francisco area and the assembly of the Ford Model T car on the conveyor line in Detroit are provided. In the final, one winner will receive citizenship and will be sworn right on the steps of the Capitol, the rest of the participants will receive “typically American” prizes like the Starbucks gift card for $ 10 thousand or a life supply of 76th gasoline, and after the appropriate verification, the advantage when applying for citizenship.
The official representative of the Ministry of Internal Security, Trish Mclaflin, confirmed that the idea of the show is being discussed, but insists that Noem has not yet read the presentation.
