One of the largest Russian retailers, Magnit, officially became the owner of 81.55% in the authorized capital of the city supermarket LLC, which manages the chain of premium ABC Taste premium stores, RBC reports .
The deal that the company reported at the end of April was successfully completed after the approval of the Federal Antimonopoly Service on May 5. Experts estimate the cost of acquiring at 35–40 billion rubles, given that the revenue of the ABC of Taste in 2024 amounted to 101.2 billion rubles, and net profit - 3.6 billion rubles.
The control of Magnit has transferred not only 171 stores in Moscow, the Moscow Region and St. Petersburg, but also five own industries (culinary, bakery and confectionery), three distribution centers and warehouse infrastructure with a total area of 47 thousand m². Magnit acquired a control package of shares through its main operational subsidiary of Tander JSC.
The General Director of Magnit, Yevgeny Sluchevsky, emphasized that the retailer will retain the ABC of Taste and his managerial team. Representatives of the maternal company will only participate in strategic business management, while operating activities will remain under the control of existing management. According to Sluchevsky, the “ABC of Taste” will enrich the Business of Magnit with an examination in the development of ultra -abomilized formats, the finished food segment and replenish knowledge of premium buyers.
In recent years, companies such as Yandex and Severogroup Alexei Mordashov appeared among applicants for the acquisition of a premium retailer.
At the same time, in early April, the Presnensky court of Moscow sentenced the former co -owner of the ABC of Taste and Coffee House Kirill Yakubovsky to eight years in a general regime in the fraud case. According to investigators, he, together with the accomplices, abducted $ 125 million allocated by investors.
