Ukrainian drones attacked the Azot chemical worship in Novomoskovsk and for the second time - a plant in Yelets, producing batteries for a military -industrial complex

The drones attacked the Azot Chemical Bill in Novomoskovsk, Tula region. This is the largest chemical enterprise that produces products, including dual purposes. Also, according to ASTRA, the attack “Energia” in Yelets, which produces batteries and batteries used by the military, was subjected to the second time.

On the morning of May 24, the Governor of the Tula region Dmitry Milyaev said that as a result of an attack by drones in one of the enterprises in Novomoskovsk, a pipeline with natural gas was damaged, a fire occurred. He later wrote that containers with acid were also damaged.

Astra, citing local residents and their own analysis of the photo, claims that the attacked enterprise is the Azot Himcobine. The publication also reports a fire at the enterprise and the evacuation of residents of the village of Gritsovo, which is located about 10 kilometers from the plant.

A blow to the enterprise is confirmed by Andrei Kovalenko, head of the Center for Combating Disinformation of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine. In his Telegram channel, he wrote :

“In the Tula region in Russia, the chemical enterprise“ Nitrogen ”is affected.”

Kovalenko notes that some of the chemicals produced on Azot can be used for military purposes. For example, ammonium nitrate is used as a component for the production of explosives, methanol can serve as raw materials for the production of fuel, including rocket fuel, and gas argon is used in the defense industry.

Astra, referring to local residents, also reports a new attack on the PJSC Energia PJSC in the Yelts of the Lipetsk region. According to the publication, at least 5 explosions sounded. The plant was already attacked on May 23 - then a fire began at the enterprise. PJSC Energia is the largest Russian manufacturer of batteries and batteries, including UAVs, aviation, fleet and electronic warfare systems. Products are used in the defense industry, which is why the enterprise is under the sanctions of the EU, the USA, Japan and other countries.
