In London, a military cooperation plan was signed between the Ministry of Defense of Kazakhstan and Great Britain in 2025–2026. The document was signed during the official visit of the Kazakhstan delegation, headed by the head of the Ministry of Defense of the Ministry of Defense Colonel Yerbol Kumarbekuly, according to the website of this department.
The main areas of cooperation define peacekeeping activities, language training and training of Kazakhstani troops in the highest military educational institutions of the United Kingdom. During the meeting, the parties discussed current issues of bilateral military interaction and outlined promising areas of partnership.
The signing of a military agreement was a continuation of the development of relations between the countries - in April 2024, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan and Great Britain Murat Nurtleu and David Cameron signed an agreement on strategic partnership and cooperation. As part of this agreement, Great Britain allocated $ 50 million pounds (about $ 62 million) for development projects in Central Asia for three years.
Kazakhstan is actively developing military cooperation with various countries. At the beginning of 2025, the republic signed a plan for military interaction with Turkey, and in September 2024 - with Azerbaijan.
