The drones attacked the Tambov powder factory in Kotovsk on the night of June 11. According to the Telegram channel of the Tambov and Region News, a strong fire began on the territory of the enterprise, and a siren was heard in the city. Local residents said that they saw an UAV flying over Kotovsky: the air defense funds tried to knock him down, but to no avail, and the drone “struck the powder factory”, after which it “blazed terribly”.
The attack of drones on Kotovsk was confirmed by the acting governor of the Tambov region Yevgeny Pervyshov.
He said that on the night of June 11, a mass attack of the UAV BPL was reflected on the Ukrainian regime on Kotovsk, but which object was attacked, he did not specify. “As a result of the fall of one of the downed UAVs, a fire arose, which was liquidated by fire departments. There are no victims, ”wrote Pervyshov.
The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that by 7 in the morning of June 11, the air defense funds were destroyed by 32 Ukrainian drones, including 16 in the Voronezh region, 8 in Kurskaya, 5 in Tambov, 2 in the Rostov and another over the Black Sea water area off the coast of the annexed Crimea.
The Tambov powder plant was the last time to attack the drones on May 29: the roof of the warehouse caught fire, the workers were evacuated. Prior to this, the company was attacked in January, as well as in 2024 and in 2023, when four people were killed in the explosion. The plant in Kotovsk is the largest manufacturer of gunpowder gunpowder and artillery ammunition in Russia.
