The guardianship authorities of “important stories” said that they demand a certificate of the absence of a transplant on the “recommendation” of the Committee on Social Policy. The committee itself actually confirmed this, telling Fontanka that such a practice began after the adoption of the law on the ban on the “sex change” and after consultations with the committee on the record of acts of civil status. It was there that in the spring of 2024 they advised to request certificates from registry offices.

Lawyers interviewed by “important stories” said that officials do not have the right to demand paper, which are not in the official list of documents for registration of guardianship or adoption. The Committee of the Social Policy of St. Petersburg said that the federal authorities are still “working out the question” of how candidate parents should prove that they did not make a trans -transition.
