Arson of the mosque in Komi

On the night of July 31, 2025, the mosque was set on fire in Usinsk in the Ovinsk of the Komi Republic. On suspicion of arson, a 20-year-old resident of the city was detained.

Employees of the mosque and the arrived firefighters quickly put out the fire, only the front door suffered.

According to the police, the girl was detained on suspicion of arson. The girl became a victim of telephone scammers. Through one of the messengers, she was convinced to transfer money to a “safe score”, and then “assisting the criminals”. In accordance with the instructions received, the girl acquired gasoline and set fire to the door of the mosque.
