Men under the age of 22 will be able to freely cross the border during martial law. We are talking about all citizens of the corresponding age, writes Prime Minister Yulia Sviridenko. Earlier there was a ban on leaving since 18 years.
“This decision also applies to citizens who, for various reasons, were abroad. We want Ukrainians to maintain ties with Ukraine as much as possible. Changes will enter into force the day after the official publication of the decision, ”Sviridenko wrote.
After the introduction of martial law in Ukraine in February 2022, caused by a full -scale invasion of the Russian Federation, Ukrainian men aged 18 to 60 were banned from traveling abroad.
Exceptions are provided for men with disabilities, fathers of minor children with disabilities, volunteers, as well as those who bring up three or more minor children. In addition, students of Ukrainian universities participating in academic mobility programs have the right to temporarily leave the country - for one semester.
