In the Belgorod region, a military man, suspected of murder, rape and robbery, escaped from arrest

A military man suspected of murder, rape and robbery in the village of Novaya Tavolzhanka escaped from arrest and is wanted. This was reported by the Belgorod publication “Fonar” with reference to a statement by the regional governor Vyacheslav Gladkov, made during a meeting of the regional government.

“Late yesterday evening, a criminal suspect escaped from guards. Now law enforcement agencies are taking all necessary measures to locate and capture him. <...> Dear heads, in the first part, the city of Belgorod, Yakovlevsky District, Belgorod District, Shebekinsky District, an order to [the head of the regional security department] Evgeny Vasilyevich Vorobyov for personal control: to raise all self-defense, to raise all DND and to interact with police departments. <...>

At night, it is necessary for the military police to increase patrols if the search is not successful before the night, primarily in the Shebekinsky and Belgorod districts and in the city of Belgorod.”

The suspect is Private Alexei Kostrikin. On October 30, it was reported that, according to investigators, he entered a private house in the border village of Novaya Tavolzhanka, killed the man who lived there and raped his wife. Judging by the press release, investigators believe that Kostrikin acted alone.
