Who makes money from Z-anti-fascism and how?
Barefoot girls and boys in rags stained with fake blood sing “The Internationale”; a former GRU officer collects money in Germany to help the Russian military; a Mexican intelligence officer dances tango with Dmitry Kharatyan; An Italian politician jumps on a table in front of Russian Stalinists who call themselves the opposition, takes off his pants, shows his bare butt and shouts: “This is what will happen to all of Europe if Putin loses the war!” All this is the new Russian anti-fascism. Anti-fascist events with government funds began to be held back in 2014, and in 2022 many realized that it was fashionable - this is how a new type of patriotic business appeared. Some organize music festivals and forums, others organize conferences with the participation of anti-NATO European politicians. The new Russian anti-fascists are not random people, they have connections. Some have it with the authorities and United Russia, others have it with the military, and still others have it with foreign intelligence and the ultra-right. This text is about official Russian anti-fascism, about the people who supervise it and where they get the money for it.
Chapter 1. Children, war, the Dulles plan and the quadrobers
“No one will break our people. Is there another such people in the world? Let us die. I’m not afraid. Yes, I’m not afraid at all!”, “Let us die as the best Bolsheviks died for our bright Motherland. Let us die at least a thousand times, if only the light of our great mother Motherland shines over the world!” These remarks from the stage of the Kursk Palace of Pioneers and schoolchildren are spoken in turn by teenagers who look rather tortured - their hair is disheveled, there are no shoes, brown stains of dried blood are visible on their torn dresses and shirts. They play young Soviet saboteurs in the play “Young Guard” at the Kursk theater-studio “Harlequin”. The Young Guard is an underground anti-fascist organization that operated in the Ukrainian SSR during the German occupation. Most of the underground members were under 19 years old, the youngest was 14. In January 1943, the organization was discovered, more than 70 people were tortured and executed . Some actresses have one braid loose - there is a version that anti-fascists of the Young Guard were hung by their hair during torture. There is also torture in the play: children stand for several minutes with their arms crossed at the wrists extended above their heads - apparently this means that they have been tied up or hung up - and then simultaneously make sharp lunges forward, as if someone had hit them in the back.
After torture, a scene of struggle - children hammering the air with their fists in a last attempt to repel the fascists - and the “Internationale”, the text of which the saboteurs are shouting angrily into the auditorium, a boy of about 12 appears on stage. He is dressed in a green tunic, in his hands is a red banner. Minting every word, he says: "No matter how sophisticated the executioners were, they were unable to extort a single word of recognition from the Young Guards. With their heads held high, they accepted all the torments. They preferred death to betrayal. They were taken out in small parties and thrown into the pit one by one. Everyone who managed to say those few words that he wanted to leave to the world. Fearing that not everyone would die in the pit, the Germans threw two trolleys from above. But the groan from the mine was heard for several days.”
This boy is the actor of “Harlequin” Dima Trubnikov. Dima is the son of Alexander Trubnikov, director of the Palace of Pioneers and Schoolchildren, where “The Young Guard” was staged. In the same palace in April 2025, the Regional Youth Anti-Fascist Forum “Young Guard Russia” was held. It was held with funds from the “Presidential Grants Fund,” like five other anti-fascist events organized by Trubnikov. Trubnikov himself, in his own words, is known in the presidential administration - he was involved in the political education of young people before it became mainstream. To do this, he created a whole network of 25 youth organizations and five summer children’s camps in the Kursk region - all structures of the organization now include almost 10 thousand children from 8 to 17 years old.
In 1995, Trubnikov founded the Monolit youth center - the original idea was to keep local street children occupied with something. Teenagers were taken to summer camps, where it was poor, but fun - in the assembly halls, peeling from the outside and inside, girls with combed bangs in a shiny mini danced “Macarena”, and certificates of honor were awarded to “Sexual revoultion”. Trubnikov received the camps for free use - since the early 90s he was a member of the Youth Affairs Committee of the Kursk Region. “From the very foundation, since 1995, we have always been for state goals and solved state problems. That is, we gave what the state needed,” says Monolit methodologist Karina Roik. Already in 2003, the center staged the play “Afghan Break,” before which Trubnikov gave a speech about the heroism of Soviet soldiers and said that the USSR did not lose the war in Afghanistan, which was given to our country by God, and it was inappropriate to discuss the mistakes of politicians and the causes of the war.
In the mid-2000s, the center apparently took on an international government order - the “We are together!” project, which united children’s organizations of the “Slavic triangle” [this term is used on the Monolith website] - Russia, Belarus and Ukraine. In the summer of 2014, the public organization “Lugansk Community” appeared in Kursk, of which Trubnikov is now listed as the leader. By order of the regional governor, children from Donbass began to be brought to the “Monolith” camps, and in the LPR the center had its own club.
From children’s festivals of friendship between fraternal peoples, “Monolith” gradually moved to heavy patriotism. In videos from the events, children juggle machine guns and dance in circles against the backdrop of “Raising Patriots of Russia” banners, stands with Putin and a portrait of a little girl in an aviation helmet with the inscription “Serving the Russian Federation.” At one of the forums, guests were entertained with the following scene: a teenager - an “angel”, standing on a pedestal, spreading huge rag wings against the backdrop of an equally huge tricolor, and in front of the “angel” a tall Youth member was holding a little girl with an icon in his arms. “These children will never go to Maidan, they will not allow it,” Alexander Trubnikov is sure.
Since 2022, the word “anti-fascist” has been added to the titles, and in the programs, in addition to the cult of the Second World War, an “information” block has appeared - Karina Roik says that at the same time “Monolith” began to use technologies for the education of youth for the first time “in terms of information warfare.” At the “Young Guard of Russia” forum, which took place in Kursk in April 2025, the former instructor of the center, Alexander Tarasov, told children how quadrobing, the Dulles plan and childfree are connected. Tarasov believes that quadrobing was invented in order to "capture the minds of the younger generation" and, together with cat masks and synthetic tails, impose on them the wrong values: "It could be some kind of subscriptions, it could be some kind of YouTube channel [dedicated to quadrobing]. This, most likely, is trying to corrupt our society from within with the help of a certain direction. Remember the Dulles Plan, right? Which influences the minds of the growing generation with the aim of further decomposition [through channels about quadrobing young people are forced] on a path without a family, without children. Well, if this is already beginning to influence the minds of the masses, then you yourself understand, that is, demography is taking place.”

In addition to the information war, the war in Ukraine is actively discussed on forums - veterans come and talk about the development of “new territories” and coexistence in the same space with “new citizens of the Russian Federation.” Children are not directly encouraged to take part in the war, but they talk about former members of “Monolith” who died heroically in it.
“We are talking about the need to serve in the army, of course. This is, in principle, the duty of any man,” says the head of one of the clubs within Monolit, Roman Komov, “We prepare civilian life first of all. Because fascism is not only at the front, it is primarily in the minds of doubting people. Those who say that something is going wrong, who oppose the presidential policy.”
At the anniversary anti-fascist forum “Monolith” dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory in August 2025, children were trained to “meet” and “rehabilitate” disabled veterans returning from the front and “contribute to the victory with their own hands” - for example, local archpriest Oleg Chebanov offered to weave camouflage nets and cast trench candles with a prayer for mouth The Presidential Grants Fund sponsored the event for 4 million rubles. Each anti-fascist project of “Monolith”—there have been 8 of them since 2022—received a presidential grant. In total, the fund allocated 16.5 million to the center.
But the main funds come to Monolit from the budget of the Kursk region - every year from April to July the center consistently wins tenders for the provision of children’s health services in summer camps, where the center’s summer “antifa” forums usually take place. From 2022 to 2025, Monolit received about 220 million government funds under contracts for servicing the camps, 50-60 million per season. With the beginning of the war, the number of contracts doubled - in 21 the center spent 31 million on camps, and in 22 - 59. For comparison, this is 20 times less than the Kursk region allocated for the implementation of the state program for the development of education in 2022. Shifts of Monolith camps often repeat the themes of such events - for example, in 2022, the center held an anti-fascist forum “Young Winds of Victory” - where children were shown a photo of a Monolith member who died in the Northern Military District - and since 2023, every year they have held thematic shifts with the same name.
Those who are now conducting anti-fascist events in Russia generally have no problems with funding, but sometimes it comes from completely unexpected places - for example, from Europe. One of these events is the “International Anti-Fascist Forum”, which has been held in Moscow by the public organization “Officers of Russia” for the fifth year. Its leader, Anton Tsvetkov, did not serve in the army - he joined the “Officers” immediately after graduating from the Russian Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Russian Federation. Now he is on the councils of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Moscow, the Ministry of Defense and the Federal Penitentiary Service, and Irina Yarovaya, Maria Zakharova and Andrei Kartapolov speak at the “Officers” forums.
The forum programs are always approximately the same - visits to places of memory of the heroes of the Second World War, speeches by speakers on the topic of the greatness of the Red Army and the contribution of the USSR to the establishment of order on the planet after World War II, as well as the revival of Nazism in the countries of the collective West and the war in Ukraine as a measure of self-defense.
In the next chapter we will tell you how the anti-fascist activities of the “Officers” are connected with the GRU, Igor Strelkov, the war in Donbass and what European money has to do with it.
Chapter 2. Officers, Germany, GRU and Strelkov
There is a photo online: a tall, ruddy brunette holds a memorial plaque in his hands. Next to him, a neatly cropped middle-aged blonde smiles through a Covid mask. This is Manuela Schwesig, Prime Minister of the German federal state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. The photo was taken in April 2021, the man with the sign is former GRU officer Oleg Eremenko. Another photo - the same Eremenko, but without a mask, standing next to Igor Strelkov at the Moscow headquarters of the Novorossiya movement. It was made in 2016, and in 2024 Eremenko came under EU sanctions for connections with Donbass separatists, “support for anti-democratic organizations in Germany” and the creation of a network of pro-Russian veterans from the Russian diaspora through organizations of former military personnel controlled by him - “Landing” and “Officers of Russia”.
Eremenko had long settled in Germany, ran a construction business in Berlin, and among his clients was the local diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church. As a representative of the “Officers of Russia,” for years he gathered around himself a group of Russian emigrants and former military men nostalgic for the USSR and carried out various actions with them in Germany and abroad - together, for example, they laid out the dates of the beginning and end of the Second World War from candles at the Memorial to Fallen Soviet Soldiers in Berlin. In January 2023, he told Reuters that he met Girkin when he was delivering humanitarian aid to Donbass in 2014-15. And in September 2023, at the next anti-fascist “Officers” forum, Eremenko complained that in Germany it had become very difficult to collect humanitarian aid for the “SVO” fighters - German special forces began to break into the activists of his organizations at five in the morning.
It is unknown where Eremenko lives after sanctions were imposed against him. His construction company did not respond to No Future’s request, and our friend request on VKontakte, which seems to be the only social network that Eremenko actively uses, was not accepted. At the anti-fascist “Officers” forum in 2025, he was announced as the official representative of the organization in Germany. One thing is known for certain - before Eremenko’s assets were frozen in Germany, he collected and planned to withdraw at least 113 thousand euros to Russia. He collected them from his fellow emigrants and “German friends.” They were supposed to go to the personal account of Anton Tsvetkov, the Moscow head of “Officers”. Tsvetkov was supposed to spend all the funds on the International Anti-Fascist Forum in Moscow.

“Officers of Russia” have been participating in the organization of International Anti-Fascist Forums since 2020 - before that, the military NGO was engaged in “consolidation of veterans”, “crime prevention”, control over the sale of alcohol and tobacco, identification of brothels and patriotic education of youth. For example, in September 2024, “Officers” took part in the sports and patriotic festival “Zarnitsa”, which took place at the center for children’s psychoneurology. There, children in wheelchairs were shown the belongings of the fighters of the Espanyol assault brigade - before its disbandment, football ultras with neo-Nazi views served in it.
A connection with nationalists can be traced in the majority of Russian pro-war anti-fascist initiatives. For example, the news agency “Antifascist” - it appeared back in 2009 as a media resource of the Ukrainian Antifascist Forum. Delegates from the Russian Federation, Belarus and Ukraine united against the “orange-brown plague” and declared that they would fight Ukrainian politicians who are infected with it.
The anti-fascist forum was founded by ex-Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov. And the first editor-in-chief of the publication “Antifascist” was Azarov’s advisor, Sergei Zavorotny. The current editor-in-chief, political strategist Alexey Berdnikov, worked as the head of the Party of Regions’ group of writers—the same one that Azarov was a member of at the time of the forum’s creation.
Currently, “Antifascist” publishes military reports from the Ministry of Defense with comments from Dmitry Medvedev, longreads about Russophobia and decline in Europe, and a digest of repressions in Ukraine. And articles often appear about the need to limit the rights of migrants and other vulnerable groups. One of the regular authors of “Antifascist,” disgraced Ukrainian journalist Vladimir Skachko, in one of his materials condemned transgender people and suggested calling them an ambulance.
In the next chapter we will tell you how the founders and leaders of Anti-Fascist are connected with foreign intelligence, Maidan and the invasion of Ukraine. And, of course, about how Zavorotny danced the tango with Kharatyan.
Chapter 3. Mexican residency, tango with Kharatyan, former critic of Putin and blood on the Maidan
"I saw a medieval catapult - this slingshot, with the help of which they threw giant stones into the standing ranks of the "Berkut". Gloomy, black in the ominous light of the fires, spewing anger and hatred, the Maidan crowd carried a huge threat to the other Ukraine that I saw," - this is how Alexey Berdnikov describes his visit to Ukraine during the Maidan in the book "Yanukovych surrendered, the State Department accepted. In it, they accuse former President Yanukovych of cowardice for firing pro-Russian Prime Minister Azarov and refusing to shoot at protesters. By the “other” Ukraine that perished on the Maidan, Berdnikov means military factories - during his visit he toured at least three: “I visited the great Yuzhmash plant, the same one where the Satan rocket was manufactured. It stands there, in the workshops, reminiscent of a huge Tube of Jericho, from which the walls of not cities, but continents, fall.”
But it is mentioned that the trip was organized by Sergei Zavorotny - then he was already Azarov’s adviser. Zavorotny has long-standing and strong ties with Ukraine - in 1978 he graduated from the history department of Kiev State University and until the mid-90s he worked as a correspondent for Komsomolskaya Pravda in Latin America. Some sources call him an intelligence officer - for example, in 2022, “Eskpress-Gazeta” wrote that the “real intelligence officer” Zavorotny, who practiced ballroom dancing in his youth, taught Dmitry Kharatyan to dance tango at a film festival in Mexico.
In May 2005, Zavorotny was first mentioned in connection with Ukraine as the marketing manager of a representative office of an Indian pharmaceutical company controlled by the Ministry of Health.

"I am Russian!"
