The Prosecutor General's Office recognized the French law firm Vigo Law Firm as “undesirable,” which filed charges against Russia with the ICC

The Russian Prosecutor General's Office has recognized the activities of the French law firm Vigo Law Firm as “undesirable.” This was reported by the press service of the supervisory agency.

The Prosecutor General's Office stated that Vigo Law Firm worked in the interests of the French non-governmental organization Pour l'Ukraine, pour leur liberté et la nôtre! (“For Ukraine, for their and for our freedom”), which was previously also included in the list of “undesirables” in Russia.

According to the department, the company’s lawyers prepared and sent to the International Criminal Court (ICC) appeals against Russia regarding the events in Ukraine. The Prosecutor General's Office claims that following the consideration of one of these materials, the ICC issued “deliberately illegal” arrest warrants for Russian citizens.

The department also said that the co-founder of Vigo Law Firm, Emmanuel Daut, accuses Russia of appropriating Ukrainian cultural property and supports the idea of ​​confiscating frozen Russian assets in favor of Ukraine.

The status of an “undesirable” organization in Russia is assigned by decision of the Prosecutor General’s Office, and the official list is maintained by the Ministry of Justice. Organizations recognized as “undesirable” are prohibited from operating on the territory of the Russian Federation.
