An administrative protocol was drawn up against Pavel Gubarev on “discrediting” the Russian army. Information about this appeared in the Moscow City Court file. The case was registered on February 18 in the Tagansky District Court of Moscow.
The court card states that liability under Part 1 of Art. 20.3.3 of the Administrative Code (fine up to 50 thousand rubles) Gubarev P.Yu. These initials coincide with the data of the former “people’s governor” of the Donetsk region.
In a conversation with RBC, Gubarev said that he did not know what was the reason for drawing up the protocol. “Whether this is someone’s intention, I don’t know, I can only assume that some people didn’t like my texts. I rate this fact as hopeless stupidity. I don’t expect any consequences for myself,” he said.
Pavel Gubarev became known in the spring of 2014 as one of the leaders of pro-Russian forces in Donbass. In March 2014, at a rally in Donetsk, he was declared the “people’s governor,” but he subsequently did not take an official position in the structures of the “DPR.” After returning to Russia and the outbreak of hostilities in Ukraine, Gubarev joined the army as a private.
He runs a Telegram channel, which has about 25 thousand subscribers.
In 2023, Gubarev was detained near the building of the Meshchansky Court in Moscow after the announcement of the decision to arrest the former “Minister of Defense of the DPR” Igor Strelkov (Girkin). Then Gubarev publicly supported Strelkov, saying that he “always criticized the justified actions of the leadership of the Ministry of Defense.” After the speech, he was taken away by law enforcement officers.
