Ukraine attacked the oil pumping point on the Druzhba oil pipeline

The SBU attacked the Kaleikino oil pumping station near Almetyevsk in Tatarstan. The oil pumping station is part of the Druzhba oil pipeline, through which Russian oil flowed to the EU countries. This is reported by several Ukrainian and Russian media, as well as by Reuters.

The Astra publication found out that as a result of a drone strike, 2 tanks with a volume of 50 thousand m³ each caught fire at the station. The area of ​​the fire in the area of ​​the first affected tank reached 2900 m². The fire, which started at night, could not be extinguished even by mid-day; eyewitnesses reported new explosions.

The administration of Almetyevsk reported on its Telegram channel about a “local fire” in the industrial zone “as a result of falling debris from drones” shot down by air defense.

The publication hromadske, citing sources, reported that the NPS was hit by SBU drones, which led to several explosions and a large fire.

Later, Reuters, citing a SBU representative, clarified that the affected station was located more than 1,200 km from the border and plays an important role in the functioning of the Druzhba pipeline.

Hungary vetoed the EU’s decision to adopt the 20th package of sanctions against Russia, calling it a response to “blackmail” from Ukraine, which blocked the transit of oil through the pipeline. Earlier, the country's Foreign Minister Peter Szijjártó said that Hungary would suspend diesel fuel supplies to Ukraine until Kiev restores transit. In addition, Budapest blocked the allocation of a loan to Kiev in the amount of €90 billion, which was previously approved by the European Commission. “Ukraine is blackmailing Hungary by preventing the transit of oil in coordination with Brussels and the Hungarian opposition in order to cause disruptions in supplies to Hungary and raise fuel prices before the elections,” Szijjártó said.
