The Kremlin “strongly condemned” the murder of Iranian Security Council head Ali Larijani

The Kremlin “strongly condemned” the murder of Iran’s de facto leader Ali Larijani, Dmitry Peskov said :

“Of course, we strongly condemn actions aimed at causing harm to health, or even more so killing and eliminating representatives of the leadership of a sovereign and independent Iran, as well as other countries.”

Iran confirmed Larijani's death the day before. His son and his guards were killed along with him. A day earlier, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz announced his murder. According to him, he was killed by an airstrike.

Ali Larijani is the Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council. Previously, he was the representative of Iran's top leader, Ayatollah Khamenei, on the Council. Responsible for negotiations on major national security issues, including the nuclear program. The media calls him one of the most influential figures in Iranian politics.
