A Molotov cocktail was thrown into the house of OpenAI CEO Sam Altman

An unknown person threw a Molotov cocktail at the home of OpenAI CEO Sam Altman in San Francisco. The Guardian writes about this with reference to local police.

The incident occurred early in the morning - around 3:43 local time - in the Russian Hill area. The suspect was detained, but his identity has not yet been revealed. According to law enforcement, he also previously made threats against OpenAI headquarters.

Employees within the company were notified of the incident. It states that an unknown person threw an incendiary device towards Altman's house, but it landed nearby and quickly went out.

There were no injuries, the damage is assessed as minor.
