A train derailed in the Belgorod region. Governor Gladkov edited the news about this, removing the indication of a possible explosion

In the Belgorod region, several carriages of the Belgorod-Tomarovka electric train derailed, the Moscow Interregional Transport Prosecutor's Office reported on the morning of May 13. Belgorod transport prosecutor Andrei Kirillov and rescue services arrived at the scene. Train traffic had to be suspended.

The governor of the region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, reporting about this incident, wrote in his Telegram channel:

“According to preliminary data, the cause of the incident was the absence of about two meters of the railway track, which could have been caused by the detonation of an explosive device.”

He later edited the post so it now looks like this:

“The cause of the incident was the absence of about two meters of the railway track, which could have been caused by damage.” At the same time, information remained that sappers from the Ministry of Defense arrived at the scene of the accident.

According to Gladkov, half of the cars derailed because the driver applied the emergency brake. At the time of the accident, there were 15 people on the train; one woman received a laceration to her leg and a bruise to the soft tissue of her back. She was taken to the hospital. No deaths have been reported.
