On May 13, 2026, it became known that a 63-year-old resident of the Pskov region was fined in Ryazan for “illegal missionary work.”
A visitor calling himself a bishop was handing out religious literature near a shopping center on Lenin Street and calling for people to give up passports, SNILS and Taxpayer Identification Numbers.
The preacher was detained by police and taken to the Department of Internal Affairs, where a report was drawn up against him under Part 4 of Art. 5.26 of the Administrative Code (carrying out missionary activities in violation of the requirements of legislation on freedom of conscience, freedom of religion and religious associations).
The court imposed a fine on him in the amount of five thousand rubles.
Later it became known that the preacher is a member of the Russian Orthodox Church - Orthodox Empire organization.
