The Russian Ministry of Defense announced the capture of Nikolaevka, northeast of Konstantinovka. The Russian military man, the host of the Telegram channel “Temny”, writes that the Russian Armed Forces have multiplied the intensity of attacks in Konstantinovka and the surrounding area, taking advantage of the “green stuff” . According to his information, fighting is taking place in the western and eastern parts of Konstantinovka, but the information about the “infiltration” into the city center is not true. According to the author of the channel, Ukrainian troops continue to counterattack and hold back the offensive with the help of drones, and also send small groups behind the Russian forces, taking advantage of urban areas.

Ukrainian military observer Konstantin Mashovets says ( 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 ) that the Russian Armed Forces are seeking to completely capture Konstantinovka and Druzhkovka in order to reach Kramatorsk from the south and southeast. According to his information, the Russian Armed Forces are concentrating their efforts to the south, southeast and east of Konstantinovka, and Russian assault groups are located on the territory of 7–8% of the city, which, however, cannot yet gain a foothold there. The observer reports that the Russian advance in Konstantinovka and on its flanks was stopped thanks to a series of counterattacks by the SOU in the area, in particular, Ilyinovka (until 2016 - Ilyich), Stepanovka and Chasov Yar, as well as in Konstantinovka itself. Meanwhile, the Russian Armed Forces are trying to reinforce the “leaked” infantry and are striking at the logistics routes leading to Konstantinovka. In particular, according to Mashovets, the situation for the SOU is worsening in the eastern and southeastern parts of the city.

Mashovets states that the Russian offensive on Konstantinovka is bogged down, and the command of the Russian Armed Forces gives preference to advancing to Dobropolye, which opens up prospects for enveloping Kramatorsk from the southwest. Nevertheless, he predicts that Russian attacks on Konstantinovka will not stop, but the units operating here will have to make do on their own, without transferring reserves.

In the Pokrovsk direction, Russian reserves are accumulating in the Pokrovsko-Mirnograd agglomeration .

Russian military blogger Anatoly Radov comments on the recent message about the possible withdrawal of the SOU from Mirnograd (until 2016 - Dimitrov). According to his sources, there really are no Ukrainian forces in Mirnograd, and moreover, a number of units from this area are being transferred to the Konstantinovka direction.

Ukrainian military observer Bogdan Miroshnikov explains that the Ukrainian command issues a “piece of kill zone ” between them for the controlled territory in Pokrovsk (until 2016 - Krasnoarmeysk) and Mirnograd. Meanwhile, according to his information, Russian reserves continue to enter both cities, including special forces and airborne units, which pose a serious threat to the SOU group on their outskirts. Z-channels write that Kinzhal missiles were launched at the Starokonstantinov military airfield in the Khmelnitsky region. In Kremenchug, the targets of missiles and drones were the Kremenchug oil refinery, motor transport enterprises and a warehouse complex, writes military correspondent Vladimir Romanov.

The Ministry of Defense of Moldova reported the day before that during the attack, a drone violated the country's airspace from the Vinnitsa region. Also, several drones flew into the Gomel region of Belarus. The insider Telegram channel “Spy Dossier” reported that on the night of May 5-6, 2026, drones equipped with Starlink attacked objects in the Dzhankoy area. A strike on an S-400 air defense missile launcher was reported; consequences are unknown. Two MTF vehicles were also hit, killing one soldier and injuring 10 others. The main blow, allegedly, fell on the Dzhankoy railway station. According to the Military Informant Z-channel, at the Rybachy naval base in Kamchatka, Western satellites recorded anti-drone networks over Project 955 Borei strategic nuclear submarines.
