Ukraine reported the return of the bodies of 528 victims

Ukraine has carried out the next stage of repatriation of the bodies of fallen servicemen. According to the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War, the bodies of 528 dead, which, according to the Russian side, may belong to the Ukrainian military, were returned to the country.

The department said that investigators and experts will carry out all the necessary procedures to identify the dead. The operation was attended by representatives of the Coordination Headquarters, the SBU, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Office of the Ombudsman, structures for searching for missing persons, the State Emergency Service and other departments of the security and defense sector.

The Ukrainian side also thanked the International Committee of the Red Cross for its assistance in repatriation. The transportation of bodies to specialized government institutions was carried out by the Joint Center for Supporting Civil-Military Cooperation Activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The Russian side did not publicly announce the transfer of bodies.
