The Ministry of Digital Development has expanded the list of data that telecom operators will have to transfer to law enforcement agencies - Kommersant
The Ministry of Digital Development of the Russian Federation has expanded the requirements for data transfer through SORM . The updated list includes the passport details of users, their addresses and information about bank accounts. This follows from the updated order of the department, published on the portal “Official publication of legal acts.”
The 69-page document details exactly how data should be exchanged within the system. It also lists the types of data that should be searchable by security forces.
If previously operators were required to transfer metadata and the contents of messages and calls to security forces ( 1 , 2 ), now they will be required to upload other information to SORM. This:
- passport details;
- addresses;
- TIN;
- bank details;
- emails;
- IP addresses and coordinates;
- information about legal entities.
