On May 28, 2026, the former head of the Russian Union of Evangelical Christian Baptists, Yuri Sipko, was included in the list of terrorists and extremists maintained by Rosfinmonitoring.
On May 29, it became known that the Kuntsevsky Court of Moscow had received a petition for the arrest of Sipko: the 74-year-old pastor, who had previously left Russia, was charged with paragraph “d” of Part 2 of Art. 207.3 of the Criminal Code (public dissemination of deliberately false information about the activities of the Armed Forces, committed for reasons of hostility).
