Far-right celebrities - Andrew Tate and Candace Owens - arrived in Russia. They will probably take part in SPIEF

On June 2, 2026, in Moscow, the American-British blogger Andrew Tate, known for his misogyny, anti-Semitism, far-right views and criminal prosecution in several countries, was greeted with bread and salt. It is reported that he may take part in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF). Earlier, far-right columnist from the United States Candace Owens, who received the title of “anti-Semite of the Year” in 2024 from the Stop Antisemitism organization, arrived in Russia for the same purpose.

On June 2, 2026, American-British blogger Andrew Tate, known for his very dubious statements and criminal prosecution in several countries, arrived in Moscow. It is reported that he may take part in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).

At one of the Moscow airports, Tate and his brother Tristan were met by girls in Russian folk costumes, who treated the guests to bread and salt.

Andrew Tate has a notorious reputation as a misogynist and regularly makes misogynistic remarks. For example, he argued that women “should belong to men,” “should not have the right to vote,” and “are responsible for rape.”

In his public speeches, he also made anti-Semitic statements, questioned the historical accuracy of the Holocaust and called for “bringing back the Nazi salute.”

Tate maintains links with a number of far-right figures. He publicly communicated with such people as Nick Fuentes and Myron Gaines, famous American right-wing radical activists.

The Tate brothers are currently involved in criminal cases in Romania and the UK. In Romania, they are accused of creating an organized criminal group, human trafficking, rape and money laundering. In August 2024, additional charges surfaced, including sex with minors. The brothers were detained in December 2022, but subsequently, under US pressure, the Tates were allowed to leave the country.

In the UK, prosecutors brought a total of 21 charges against the brothers, including rape, grievous bodily harm, human trafficking and prostitution.

Andrew Tate is also the defendant in a civil lawsuit by four women in the High Court in London. They accuse him of rape and systematic violence.

Andrew Tate's arrival in Moscow caused a negative reaction among many. In particular, the chairman of the State Duma Committee for Family Protection, Nina Ostanina, criticized the very fact of the blogger’s visit to the country. The Rybar telegram channel, close to the Ministry of Defense, called Tate’s possible appearance at SPIEF a “reputational blow.” Tate’s visit also caused bewilderment among the Russian far-right blogger Vladislav Pozdnyakov, the founder of the “Male State” community, who lives in exile. The latter was indignant: “When I did the same thing, in 2016-2018 they met me and sent me to a pre-trial detention center, and in all the media they called me a misogynist. (...) I just want to understand how all this *** works in the minds of the Kremlin retinue and the heads of law enforcement agencies. And if I fly in tomorrow too, will they be greeted with bread and salt?..."

Let us add that Tate’s visit took place a few days after the arrival in Moscow of American far-right columnist Candace Owens, who also plans to take part in SPIEF. Owens is also known for her anti-Semitic rhetoric. For speaking out against Jews and denying the Holocaust, Owens was named 2024 Anti-Semite of the Year by Stop Antisemitism. Owens opposes feminism and supports Tate: she has interviewed him multiple times and called the allegations against him a “witch hunt.” This support was one of the reasons for her dismissal from The Daily Wire.
