A participant in the war in Ukraine, a native of the Perm region, Artyom Buchin, was sentenced to life imprisonment in the case of the murder and rape of a 26-year-old woman and her seven-year-old daughter. This was reported by the website E1.RU with reference to its source.
The publication writes that Buchin was sentenced in Yekaterinburg, without specifying which court heard his case. ASTRA writes that the case was considered by the Central District Military Court and, probably, it was he who passed the verdict.
Buchin’s case received resonance because he enlisted for the war from a colony, where he also served a sentence for the rape and murder of a woman.
On August 29, 2024, in the city of Chusovoy, Perm Territory, the bodies of a woman and a girl born in 2017 were found in an apartment with signs of violent death. Buchin was detained in this case two days later and sent to a pre-trial detention center. The publication Baza wrote that Buchin explained the murder by jealousy: the murdered woman was allegedly in a close relationship with him, but he believed that she was “cheating on him while he was at war.”
In 2018, he received a sentence in a robbery case, and in 2023 he was given 20 years in a maximum security colony on charges of murder and rape of a nurse. However, instead of serving his sentence, Buchin signed a contract and went to war. A number of media outlets reported that he was recruited by the Wagner PMC, but the PMC denied this, saying that the recruitment of prisoners “was stopped by the company long before Artyom Buchin could sign the contract.” ASTRA clarifies that he signed a contract in August 2023 with the Ministry of Defense. It was reported that before the murder he was on leave due to injury and was preparing to be sent back to the front.
According to “Verstka” , as of December 2025, participants in the war in Ukraine killed at least 240 people in Russia, the total number of victims of violent crimes with their participation reached a thousand.
