Before the war, VlSU’s partners were universities in Italy, Germany, Japan and South Korea.
In 2025, Vladimir State University concluded 7 cooperation agreements with foreign universities from China, Cameroon, Egypt and Sri Lanka, according to the Vladimir State University website.
VlSU concluded 6 more cooperation agreements with universities from Thailand, China, Vietnam, Uzbekistan and Belarus in the current year 2026.
Among foreign partners, the VlSU website also lists universities in Iran, Iraq, Cuba, Turkmenistan and Syria.
For comparison, before the start of a full-scale war with Ukraine, in 2019-2021, VlSU collaborated with universities in Italy, Germany, Japan, Latvia, Malta, Bulgaria and South Korea.
Previously, the rector of VlSU, United Russia member Anzor Saralidze publicly supported the war with Ukraine. Vladimir Zelensky introduced personal sanctions against him.
