Ekaterina Novikova from the city of Vladimir left Russia after the start of a full-scale Russian-Ukrainian war.

Today at the congress of the opposition democratic party “Peaceful Russia” in Berlin, her candidacy was nominated to the political council of the party.

“I have no media background or experience in party participation. I have been in the opposition since 2020, when I was 17 years old. Now I'm 23 years old. I came here today because for the first time in several years of emigration I saw an opportunity to return to active action again. I think it's important to remember why we're all here. Putin took away our right to vote, our right to act and create, and made us believe that our actions mean nothing. We all want one thing: to end the bloody regime, regain the Russia of opportunity and return to the beautiful, peaceful Russia of the future,” Novikova said.
