A video of dead fish in Klyazma near the village of Bogolyubovo, Vladimir Region, is being distributed on the Internet.
According to the regional branch of the Green party, the death toll is widespread, and the river “has become like a real graveyard for fish, including the Red Book sterlet.”
“This section of the river has important environmental significance: the Bogolyubovsky meadow and the adjacent Klyazma floodplain are part of the specially protected natural areas of the Vladimir region. This picture indicates a volley discharge of pollutants, which caused a sharp decrease in the concentration of dissolved oxygen or a direct toxic effect on aquatic organisms. Such phenomena cannot be caused solely by natural factors,” said Olga Lukashina, head of the party’s regional branch.
